Day 17 Advent Devotional | December 20th
1 Peter 1:8
And though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory
To me, this verse is speaking to the Christian. Speaking to the one locked tight in their walk with the Lord. And maybe there are people like that. Hopefully many. But, I’m afraid there are many borderline. Go along to get along. Never wanting to rock the boat and lose a friend. Never giving a thought to where that friend will spend eternity
Passed a sign at a church today. “Just because everyone is doing it, doesn’t make it right”. America is in a perilous position. Evil is becoming the norm, and we who are rock solid in Christ, are allowing it to happen
Advent 2022 is upon us. The celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ and the preparation for His soon coming return. The vast majority of people in America are Christian’s. Just ask them. The ones that actually know Jesus as Lord of their life are far, far fewer. This year, let’s concentrate not on the presents we’ll buy, or the empty tomb we’ll celebrate. Let’s concentrate on the family members, neighbors and co-workers who need to know Jesus as Lord of their life.
Prayer: Father, as we celebrate Advent 2022, may we develop a passion for the lost all around us. Amen
